Privacy Policy
How we use
Analytics data tells us which reviews need updating, which pages load slowly on mobile, and where readers drop off. We use it to prioritise work on the site, not to profile individual readers. Nobody from the team looks up a specific IP or tries to match a session to a real person.
Email data from the contact form is used only to reply to your enquiry and, if the correction leads to a published change, to credit you by name when you have asked for public credit.
International transfers
Our analytics and email providers process data inside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. The content delivery network has edge nodes worldwide, so when you load an image your request may be served from the closest node — this is caching, not storage of personal data.
Where any transfer outside the UK or the EEA happens, it is covered by the standard contractual clauses mandated by UK GDPR. Copies of the clauses are available on request through the contact form.
Third parties
We use a small set of third-party services and only those we need: a privacy-focused analytics provider, a transactional email relay for contact-form replies, and a content delivery network to serve images faster. Each of those sees a slice of your data limited to what their job requires.
We do not sell data to brokers, we do not run programmatic advertising networks, and we do not share reader lists with the operators we review. The relationship with Vivaspin stays strictly commission-on-referral.
Changes
We update this policy when the law changes, when we switch an analytics or email provider, or when the editorial process itself changes in a way that affects what we collect. Every change is recorded with a date in the footer of this page and a one-line note describing what moved.
If a change expands what we collect or where we send data, we show a banner on the top of the site for 14 days so returning readers notice. For narrower or purely clarifying edits the footer note is enough.
What we collect
When you read this site we log the standard web analytics data: the pages you visit, the referrer that brought you here, your device and browser type, the country-level location of your IP, and the time of each request. That is it — we do not ask for your name, email, or any account identifier to read a review.
If you fill in the contact form, email address and message content are stored in the editorial inbox for as long as the ticket is open plus 12 months for audit.
