How We Rate
Scoring
A score of 9 or 10 means best-in-class for the UK market — rare and reserved for operators that outperform peers on every criterion. A score of 7 or 8 is a solid recommendation. A score of 5 or 6 is adequate but with real caveats readers should weigh. Anything below 5 we do not recommend and the page explains why in detail.
Scores are refreshed every quarter alongside the review itself.
Example walkthrough
Here is how a score for Vivaspin is built: licence (UKGC remote licence verified, score 9), bonus (200% match with x30 wagering, below median wagering so 7), games (over 2,000 slots and 150 live tables, 8), payments (instant deposits, 24-hour withdrawal on cards, 7), support (24/7 chat answered inside two minutes in our test, 8). Average: 7.8. Rounded to one decimal: 7.8.
Limitations
Our test deposits run between 50 and 200 GBP. We do not test the operator at high-roller tier because the volume of such tests would push commercial relationships beyond independent review. If you deposit at a tier where the operator assigns a VIP host, your experience of payment speed and support may be meaningfully better than our scores reflect.
Our live-dealer coverage prioritises Evolution and Playtech tables. Smaller studio floors are checked at a lighter cadence.
Re review cycle
Every operator we rate is re-reviewed on a 90-day cycle. The quarterly re-review repeats the welcome bonus test with a new email and a new device, runs a fresh withdrawal, and reads through the operator's current terms line by line looking for silent changes. Any material change updates the score within one working day of the test completing.
Criteria
Each operator is scored on five criteria of equal weight: licence and safety, bonus value in practice, game selection, payment speed, and support quality. "In practice" is the key phrase — a 500% bonus with x60 wagering is worse value than a 100% bonus with x30, and we score accordingly.
Each criterion scores from 1 to 10, the five numbers average to the headline rating, and nothing in the score formula depends on commercial terms with the operator.
